Q&A
Joshua T. Berglan: What are you grateful for today and why?
Bisa Peterson: I’m grateful for my team. Over the past few weeks, we’ve been focused on major contracts in medtech and defense, and my team has worked tirelessly even during the holiday break. Their dedication is incredible, and I’m excited for Microtron AI’s future.
Joshua T. Berglan: With so many leadership roles under your belt, how has your approach to leading teams evolved over time?
Bisa Peterson: My leadership has become more adaptive. Initially, I worked with international teams where I had to overcome language barriers and cultural differences. Now, I lead multiple divisions—medtech, defense, education—with a more intimate and tailored approach.
Joshua T. Berglan: What drives you as an inventor and entrepreneur, and how do you maintain momentum?
Bisa Peterson: I’m driven by the desire to solve problems and improve humanity. For example, we developed sustainable materials like mushroom leather and magnolia suede. When I see a need, I create solutions.
Joshua T. Berglan: How do you decide where to focus your energy in diverse industries?
Bisa Peterson: I follow a scientific journey. My focus is always rooted in biotechnology and wearables, but I explore its applications in defense, medtech, and even entertainment.
Joshua T. Berglan: What’s a misconception people have about leading-edge tech companies like Microtron AI?
Bisa Peterson: A common misconception is that our technology is too advanced for the market. People think they’re not ready for it, but we focus on solving present issues like gun violence and healthcare challenges.
Joshua T. Berglan: What’s the most unconventional decision you’ve made in your career, and what was the outcome?
Bisa Peterson: Expanding Microtron AI into five industries was bold and risky. It required immense effort but allowed us to scale and diversify successfully.
Joshua T. Berglan: If you could master any new skill instantly, what would it be and why?
Bisa Peterson: Japanese. It’s key for AI advancements in Japan and China. I’d also love to master 3D modeling to enhance our technology designs.
Joshua T. Berglan: What’s your favorite language to speak, and why?
Bisa Peterson: Italian, inspired by Andrea Bocelli’s music. Learning the language connected me to my first mentor and helped me enter the tech industry at 12.
Joshua T. Berglan: If you could collaborate with any historical inventor, who would it be?
Bisa Peterson: Steve Jobs. His vision for technology and ability to scale innovation align perfectly with my goals for Microtron AI.
Joshua T. Berglan: What do you want your legacy to be?
Bisa Peterson: A pioneer who proved the impossible is possible. As a minority woman with epilepsy leading a groundbreaking company, I hope to inspire others to believe in themselves.
