Social Media and Technology Detox: A Path to Spiritual Growth and Healing

    Joshua T Berglan

    Dear friends,

I'm writing to let you know that this will be my last post on this platform. I didn't plan to post again until I retweeted my interview with @TheEmmapreneur, but I felt the need to be honest with you all before I go. A lot has happened since my interview with Emma, including going back to church. That will make more sense when you watch the episode. Let's just say that a lot has changed for me in the last four days. I'm excited for this next phase of my life, a life that's not trying to be seen but unseen.

I'm taking radical steps to heal all areas of my life and remove distractions that keep me from my purpose. I love speaking on camera, but it's made me more focused on speaking than listening. I need to listen to what God is saying to me. My body is telling me that I haven't been a good steward of my health, despite my efforts to do what I felt led by God to do and help everyone else. I've neglected my own health, and now my body is responding in ways that are scary at times.

@RifeTechnology has helped me, but after the "dog attack" video, and another horrible doctors visit, I had a series of "switches" that set me back. I quit taking RSO, and that was a perfect storm of chaos that set me back. Rife is still helping me, and I'm using regular cannabis now so I can start writing again. I'm removing all stimulus from my life and focusing my creative energy on writing and painting while learning martial arts.

I'm getting back to the basics of following Jesus/Yeshua instead of trying to be Him. I'm no longer going to try to be the star of the show. I've realized how much life I miss being on social media, but I also recognize how blessed my life is, and I don't want to miss out on that. My accounts will remain active, but the next post will be someone else promoting some exciting things.

I'm taking a break from broadcasting and being on camera, but all my energy will go into healing, writing, and mentoring anyone willing to do the work with anything independent media related, or even if it is something more personal related. I'll continue to do the work God called me to, but from behind the scenes for a while.

If you need support, want to collaborate, or just want to say hi, you can contact me directly on my website, http://JoshuaTBerglan.com. I'm grateful for all this platform has helped me do and for the people I've met. I'm looking forward to meeting some of you in real life.

    Love to you all,

    Joshua aka "Mayor"

Social media and technology have become an integral part of our daily lives, and it's hard to imagine a world without them. However, it's important to recognize when it's time to take a step back and detox from these tools that were designed to make our lives easier. In this article, we'll explore the concept of social media and technology detox and how it can benefit our spiritual growth and healing.

What is Social Media and Technology Detox?

Social media and technology detox refer to the act of consciously stepping back from social media platforms and technology tools for a period of time. This can range from a few days to several weeks or even months, depending on individual preferences and goals. The idea is to break free from the constant barrage of information and distractions that come with social media and technology use.

Why is Social Media and Technology Detox Important for Spiritual Growth and Healing?

In today's world, it's easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle of life and forget to take care of ourselves. Social media and technology can be a significant source of stress, anxiety, and distraction, which can hinder our spiritual growth and healing. By taking a break from these tools, we can create space for self-reflection, introspection, and connection with our inner selves.

Moreover, social media and technology detox can help us become more mindful and present in our daily lives. We can focus on building meaningful relationships, pursuing our passions, and engaging in activities that nourish our minds, bodies, and souls.

Benefits of Social Media and Technology Detox

There are several benefits of social media and technology detox, including:

    1. Reduced stress and anxiety: Social media and technology can be significant sources of stress and anxiety. By taking a break from these tools, we can reduce our stress levels and promote relaxation.
    2. Improved mental health: Social media and technology detox can help us improve our mental health by reducing the constant stream of information and distractions that can contribute to feelings of overwhelm and burnout.
    3. Increased productivity: Without the distractions of social media and technology, we can focus on our work and pursue our passions with greater productivity.
    4. Better sleep: Exposure to screens and the blue light they emit can disrupt our sleep patterns. By taking a break from technology, we can improve our sleep quality and duration.
    5. More time for self-reflection: Social media and technology detox can provide us with the space to reflect on our lives, our values, and our goals. This can help us gain clarity and direction in our personal and professional lives.

Tips for Social Media and Technology Detox

If you're considering a social media and technology detox, here are some tips to help you get started:

    1. Set clear boundaries: Decide on the duration of your detox and stick to it. You can start with a few days or a week and gradually increase the duration as you become more comfortable with the process.
    2. Plan ahead: Before starting your detox, make sure you have everything you need, such as a watch or alarm clock, to avoid needing to use your phone or computer.
    3. Find alternative activities: Plan activities that bring you joy and help you relax, such as reading, painting, or spending time in nature.
    4. Communicate with loved ones: Let your friends and family know that you'll be taking a break from social media and technology. You can set up a message or email auto-responder to inform people of your detox and set expectations.
    5. Be kind to yourself: Remember that it's okay to slip up. Don't be too hard on yourself if you accidentally check your phone or log into social media. Simply acknowledge the slip-up and get back on track.

    Conclusion

Social media and technology detox can be a powerful tool for spiritual growth and healing. By taking a break from these tools, we can create space for self-reflection, introspection, and connection with our inner selves. Remember, it's important to set clear boundaries, plan ahead, find alternative activities, communicate with loved ones, and be kind to yourself during the detox process. By doing so, you can experience the numerous benefits of social media and technology detox and cultivate a healthier relationship with technology and social media.
