Multiple Sclerosis sucks.
Before I started the current journey I am on 4 years ago I worked in Complex Rehab Medical Equipment. Most people do not know what that is so I explain it by saying “Do you remember Christopher Reeves? Superman? Do you remember the kind of power wheelchair he used? Yeah, that is what I used to provide people with complex disabilities.” Complex disabilities can be a number of conditions but the ones that come to the top of my head are spinal cord injuries (SCI), Cerebral Palsy, ALS, CVA, Muscular Dystrophy and Multiple Sclerosis.
I left the industry after 18 years and got into the world of medical aesthetics after my father died from melanoma however my passion for the people affected by those disabilities never left my heart. I got involved in the cannabis industry through my advocacy and research for my own benefit however what I learned through reading numerous studies was the “potential” benefits of CBD and cannabis for conditions like Multiple Sclerosis.
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) is a potentially disabling disease of the brain and spinal cord (central nervous system. With Ms, the immune system attacks the protective sheath that covers nerves themselves To deteriorate or become permanently damaged. Signs and symptoms of multiple sclerosis very independent the amount of nerve damage and which nerves are affected. there are some people with MS who lose the ability to walk independently or at all While others have long periods of remission without any new symptoms. there is no cure for multiple sclerosis but treatments can help speed recovery from attacks and modify the course of the disease while managing symptoms.
I had the great pleasure of meeting a wonderful woman yesterday who has been kicking multiple sclerosis is but for a long time now. yes she is using a motorized wheelchair however she is bought off the evils of her diagnosis for well over 30 years. Her story, which she shares briefly in this interview is inspiring. Being a part of this interview move me in ways that I have not experienced since I left the industry.
With her trainer, Traci Lynn Cowan, she has a rigorous exercise program that has given her hoe strength and the quality of life that most with her condition do not experience. I was also pleased to know that she utilizes CBD to help fight off some of the side effects of multiple sclerosis.
CBD benefits Multiple sclerosis patients in many ways. CBD deactivates the immune system, holding the violent assault on the central nervous system. when the immune system is calm down, no longer attacks the central nervous system. cannabinoids are a few of a handful of key substances that promote neurogenesis in adults which is the creation of new brain cells. CBD also eases pain, it stops muscle stiffness and spasms, helps digestion, it helps you sleep, bites depression, and even protects your eyes.
I hope you enjoy this interview as I enjoyed being a part of it. Thank you for reading and watching.
